As humans, the pursuit of change and progress is something that is innate to every one of us. Like it or not, there will always be things in life that we hope could be a little different, a little better in the way that daily situations & events turn out. It could be in the way we think, speak, or the way we handle everything from our finances to our relationships with others. We seek to become better -- and we should. If you or I want to stay in front of the curve and lead others, then we must do the work that keeps us out front. We must continually improve. But as I seek to improve, there is one thing I know not to chase, and that is perfection. Perfection is a trap. Do not chase perfection as a leader - chase improvement. Make today better than yesterday so tomorrow can be better than today. The relentless pursuit of improvement will take any leader far.

You can directly reduce the envy itself, or you can at least reduce the bad choices you make as a result of envy. Here are seven strategies I use to cut envy out of my own life.

Nurhana Binte Ismail. Public Service Officer

If there is one thing I know about Ruth, is that she is someone I can trust and depend on. From letting her “fly” me in acroyoga poses, to handling my financial plans - I know that I’m always in good hands! She has been a great friend, “cheerleader” and inspiration in our yoga journey together over the years, and I’m proud to watch her grow and thrive, not only as a yoga teacher, but also as a rising Financial Consultant!

Serene Khor. Paralegal.

I met Ruth during a yoga retreat and then we become friends. Ruth is very professional and meticulous with her financial planning advice. She is very responsive and helpful whenever I need her helps with my insurance advice or claims. Her advice is tailored to meet my needs and she goes above and beyond to help every step of the way. She is quick to follow up on any questions that I have and is always just a text away. I’ll definitely recommend her to anyone who needs help with financial planning.

Ruth takes time to look into what you have and tries to value add, often putting herself in the shoes of her customers and recommending only what she feels is essential. Thanks to her, I know I am adequately covered in the event something happens to me!

Evon Lim

Ruth IS a superwoman!! Dedicated to her job, wants to help people, and always giving her best to BBGen. It's tough as a working mum and to be balanced (in all aspects is even harder.) I knew her as the yogi and barre instructor from 4-5 years back. I love her choice of music and her effort in ensuring her students are having fun. She is a go-getter.

Ruth was my ex-colleague on the same team many years ago. We reconnected when I found out she had joined Prudential and I needed some help with reassessing my financial goals and status. Ruth is professional, reliable, dedicated and eternally upbeat. She is also always empathetic and takes time to understand the financial goals I want to achieve and matches the different financial tools available with a high level of professionalism. If you are looking for someone who is here for the long haul and someone who takes time to understand your needs and helps you to achieve your goals, I would definitely say that Ruth is the person to go to. Wishing her all the best success!

Mabel Sim. Undergraduate

I can trust Ruth’s financial advice as she knows what’s best for me and as an undergraduate, I bought my first policy from her and it’s best suited for my current needs! She adds a personal touch and is very approachable and patient when dealing with me, that’s why I know who to look for the next time I wish to purchase another policy. 😊
