In life, there are days and moments where everything we do does not feel enough, or face situations that are beyond our control. A common response to such instances is to doubt ourselves and our abilities, and that is a very normal and human thing to do. But the effect of self-doubt can cut both ways: It can either spur us to achieve our goals and thereby boost our confidence levels, or cause us to feel entirely powerless and paralysed. Moving from Self Doubt to Self Confidence

It would be nice if moving from self doubt to self confidence just came naturally. However, moving from self doubt to self confidence is a practice you can adopt, with practice. When you are able to identify where your insecurities lie and what is stopping you from feeling confident, you can then start the process of moving from self doubt to self confidence. You will be able to work on eliminating the blocks that are keeping you from moving through life with assuredness. Here are some of the culprits for the patterns of self doubt and ideas for what you can do about them.

Why confidence and knowledge can lead to smart money decisions

Two common areas that cause people to procrastinate financially are knowledge and confidence. While some need mindset adjustments, others need a confidence boost or a little reassurance that they are on the right track. Take small steps, follow and when doubt starts to creep in, remind yourself that money is only a tool and you are learning.

Jess Liu. Executive Director, Private Bank Team Leader

My trusted financial advisor Ruth Tan has been an invaluable asset to my financial stability and peace of mind. Her expert guidance in both insurance and financial planning, coupled with her exceptional follow-up service, has not only protected my assets but also helped me achieve my long-term financial goals. I can't recommend Ruth highly enough for her unwavering dedication and responsive support.

Evon Lim

Ruth IS a superwoman!! Dedicated to her job, wants to help people, and always giving her best to BBGen. It's tough as a working mum and to be balanced (in all aspects is even harder.) I knew her as the yogi and barre instructor from 4-5 years back. I love her choice of music and her effort in ensuring her students are having fun. She is a go-getter.

Serene Khor. Paralegal.

I met Ruth during a yoga retreat and then we become friends. Ruth is very professional and meticulous with her financial planning advice. She is very responsive and helpful whenever I need her helps with my insurance advice or claims. Her advice is tailored to meet my needs and she goes above and beyond to help every step of the way. She is quick to follow up on any questions that I have and is always just a text away. I’ll definitely recommend her to anyone who needs help with financial planning.

Joann Ong. Manager

I like that Ruth is genuine, honest and patient. She doesn’t hard sell, but instead she suggests the best possible plans that cater to my needs. She is very precise in her presentation and is always able to breakdown complex topics into simplified conversation. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I am very lucky to have come across a consultant like Ruth. She has been very professional, reliable and has proven to be very trustworthy in our dealings. She also happens to possess a fantastic sense of humor (which of course, I appreciate tremendously). But in all seriousness, Ruth is very dependable and always has my back, despite the hour of the day. She has proven this on more than just one occasion. I would recommend Ruth highly as I do not know of a more professional consultant amongst those that work with my peers.

Lisa

Ruth has been my consultant for years now. Although I met her by chance, I am happy for that! I feel that she genuinely cares about and wants to make a real connection with her client. She would listen to my concerns before trying to provide a solution. She is patient in explaining and finding middle ground between minimising my future risk and ensuring my comfort and confidence on the plan. I also appreciate that she gives her client enough space and time to think and consider about the financial plan throughout the process. Thanks Ruth!
